“We know visiting a chiropractor for the first time can feel uncertain. Here’s exactly what to expect — no surprises.”

Most chiropractic offices are the same: you come in, get adjusted, and leave. That’s how it works almost everywhere.

But United Chiropractic Center isn’t most chiropractic offices.

We don’t just crack and go. We find the cause of your pain or dysfunction, measure it with objective technology, and track your progress every step of the way. Our approach is called corrective chiropractic — and it works differently than the quick-fix adjustments you might have experienced elsewhere.

When you come in for your first visit, you’re not signing up for a one-time adjustment. You’re beginning a relationship with Dr. Steve Landry and our team. We want you to feel heard, understood, and confident about your care.

This page walks you through exactly what happens during your first visit, what makes us different, and how to prepare.

What Happens During Your New Patient Visit in Marietta — Step by Step

Your first appointment takes about 45 minutes. Here’s what you’ll experience:

01

One-on-One Consultation

Dr. Landry sits down with you and listens to your full story. We ask about your chief complaint, your health history, any injuries or accidents, your work environment, your stress level, and your goals. This isn’t a quick form-filling exercise. We actually listen.

02

Tytron Nerve Scan (Painless Infrared Technology)

We use the Tytron nervous system scanner to measure exactly where nerve interference exists along your spine. This technology measures thermal asymmetry and electromagnetic activity — giving us objective data about how well your nervous system is functioning. No needles, no pain, just science.

03

Digital X-Rays (If Clinically Indicated)

If your condition warrants it, we take digital postural X-rays to assess the structural alignment of your spine. This helps us identify any degenerative changes, misalignments, or issues that pure physical exam and scanning might miss. We explain what we see, not just what’s wrong, but what’s right about your spine too.

04

Doctor’s Report — Clear Findings and Your Plan

Dr. Landry walks you through exactly what we found, why it matters for your health and symptoms, and whether corrective chiropractic care can help. You’ll get a clear care plan with expected timeframes, frequency of visits, and realistic expectations. No pressure. No scare tactics. Just honesty.

“I want every new patient to feel heard and understood. Your first visit isn’t an upsell opportunity — it’s a discovery appointment. If you’re not a good candidate for chiropractic care, I’ll tell you and recommend where you should go instead. That’s how we build trust.”

What Makes United Chiropractic Different from Other Chiropractors in Marietta

You can get adjusted anywhere. But most chiropractic offices operate on a “palliative” model — they treat the symptom to get temporary relief, then you keep coming back because the problem never gets fixed. It’s designed to keep you as a patient forever.

We practice corrective chiropractic. Our goal is to identify the root cause of your dysfunction, correct it, and get you to a place where you need us less — not more.

We measure and track your progress. You get baseline scans and X-rays on day one. We re-scan you at defined intervals (typically 2-3 weeks, then monthly) so you can see objective before-and-after data that proves the nervous system is improving and the spine is correcting. This isn’t guesswork. It’s science.

We use objective technology, not just hands. While Dr. Landry’s hands are trained and experienced, we don’t rely on palpation alone. The Tytron scan gives us a clear thermal and electrical map of your nervous system. We know exactly what’s wrong before we adjust.

We educate, not dictate. Your care plan is a partnership. You understand why we’re recommending certain frequencies, what you can expect, and how long it typically takes. Some patients need 8 visits. Others need 24. It depends on your individual condition — not on our schedule or insurance billing cycles.

We’ve been serving Marietta families since 2011. Dr. Landry and his team aren’t chasing trends. We’re focused on results. Many of our patients have been with us for years, and their families trust us with their back pain, neck pain, and overall spinal health.

The key difference: We’re not here to be your chiropractor for life. We’re here to correct your spine, educate you about spinal health, and help you maintain what we’ve built. That’s the corrective model — and it works.

What to Bring & How to Prepare for Your Chiropractic Appointment

We keep first appointments simple. Here’s everything you need to know:

01

Wear Whatever You're Comfortable In

Wear whatever you’re comfortable in — there’s no need to change. All of our exams and scans are performed in your regular clothes. Our team maintains professional tableside manners and ensures every visit is fully respectful.

02

Bring Your Insurance Card & ID

We provide a complimentary benefits check for all new patients. For uninsured patients, we offer a chiropractic savings plan with discounted rates. Bring your insurance card and photo ID for intake paperwork — we’ll handle the rest so you can focus on your health.

03

Arrive 10-15 Minutes Early

We’ll have a brief health intake form. Coming early means you’re not rushed, and Dr. Landry can actually spend time with you instead of playing catch-up. We start on time, so plan accordingly.

New Patient Questions About Your First Chiropractic Visit in Marietta

Do I need a referral from my doctor to see a chiropractor?

No. You don’t need a referral to schedule a chiropractic appointment. You can call us directly at 770-690-8959 or request an appointment online. That said, if your medical doctor has referred you, bring that information — it helps us coordinate care.

How much does the first new patient visit cost?

New patient visits start at $97. This includes the full spinal evaluation, Tytron nerve scan, digital postural X-rays if clinically indicated, and a thorough consultation with Dr. Landry where he explains findings and your care plan.

Do you take insurance?

We provide a complimentary benefits check for all new patients. Bring your insurance card to your first visit and we’ll verify coverage. For uninsured patients, we offer a chiropractic savings plan with discounted rates so cost never has to stand in the way of your care.

How long does the first visit take?

Plan for about 45 minutes. We don’t rush. If you come in 15 minutes early to complete paperwork, the actual appointment is typically 40-45 minutes. This includes consultation, scanning, X-rays if needed, and Dr. Landry’s full report and recommendation.

What if I’m nervous about getting adjusted on my first visit?

Many people feel nervous. Here’s what you should know: your first visit is not about getting adjusted. It’s about getting evaluated and understanding your condition. Dr. Landry will explain everything before doing anything. If an adjustment is recommended, he’ll show you the technique, answer your questions, and go at your pace. You’re in control. If you need more time, we take it.

Can I bring my kids with me to my appointment?

Yes. Our office is kid-friendly. If childcare is an issue, you’re welcome to bring children with you. However, if you have specific health concerns you want to discuss one-on-one with Dr. Landry, we can arrange a time that works best for that conversation. Either way, we’ll make it work.
